Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
ScanlationHub BV operates the website at scanlationhub.com. We are an editorial publication registered in Belgium. For data protection matters, you can reach us at the address above or by using the contact form on our Get in Touch page.
2. What data we collect and why
We collect personal data only when you actively provide it to us. The site itself does not run advertising, affiliate tracking, or behavioural profiling systems.
2.1 Contact form submissions
When you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, and the content of your message. We use this information solely to respond to your enquiry. The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in responding to communications directed to us (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
We retain contact form data for up to 24 months, after which it is deleted unless there is an ongoing matter that requires us to keep a record.
2.2 Analytics (optional)
If you accept optional analytics cookies via the cookie banner, we may collect anonymised usage data (page views, approximate geographic region, browser type) to understand how the site is being read. This data does not identify you individually. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you may withdraw at any time by declining cookies or clearing your browser storage.
2.3 Cookies
See our Cookie Policy for a full description of the cookies used on this site and how to manage them.
3. Data we do not collect
We do not collect payment information. We do not create user accounts. We do not build advertising profiles. We do not share your personal data with third-party advertisers or data brokers.
4. Who we share data with
We do not sell personal data. Where we use third-party services (such as a hosting provider or an email delivery service for contact form responses), those providers process data on our behalf under data processing agreements and are not permitted to use the data for their own purposes.
We will disclose personal data if required to do so by Belgian law or a binding order from a competent authority.
5. International transfers
If any service provider is located outside the European Economic Area, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place — such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission — before any transfer takes place.
6. Your rights under GDPR
As a resident of the EU/EEA, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access — you can ask us what personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification — you can ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure — you can ask us to delete your data where there is no legitimate reason to continue holding it.
- Right to restriction — you can ask us to limit how we process your data in certain circumstances.
- Right to object — where we rely on legitimate interests as a legal basis, you can object to that processing.
- Right to data portability — where processing is based on consent or contract and carried out by automated means, you can ask for your data in a machine-readable format.
- Right to withdraw consent — where processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing that took place before withdrawal.
To exercise any of these rights, use the contact form on our Get in Touch page. We will respond within one month.
7. Right to lodge a complaint
If you believe we have not handled your personal data correctly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données), Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels, Belgium. You may also contact the supervisory authority of the EU member state where you reside or work.
8. Data security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure, or access. No method of internet transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
This site is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has submitted personal data to us, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, the "last updated" date at the top of this page will change. Material changes will be noted prominently. Continued use of the site after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
11. Contact
Questions about this policy or how we handle personal data can be sent via the form on our Get in Touch page, or by post to: ScanlationHub BV, Leiemeersdreef 9, 8520 Kuurne, Belgium.
